The Church should be involved in praying with sick people for their healing and seeing the sick made whole.
Can you remember the last time you visited a relative or friend in hospital?
I don’t know why but hospitals can feel like such lonely hopeless places, the staff are always run off their feet, everyone wants help or assistance. The staff are overworked and often cannot give the patients as much time as they would like to. The nursing staff cannot be both health carer and visitor they are simply to busy.
As individual Christians we should be available to visit family or Church members who are in hospital, when the Reverends or Pastors has willing volunteers to help with hospital visits it lifts the burden, remember they are caring and looking after all the congregation.
If you feel Jesus is calling you to start a group to reach out into your local hospital, pray it through and talk to your Church leader as he or she will be key in getting access to patients.
At first you will require a little help from your Church to get things started and of course a group of willing prayerful volunteers.
Your group should ideally be a mixed age group made up of male and female members. Ladies should visit ladies and the men should visit the men.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. And Jesus said unto him,
Verily I say unto you, Today shall you be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:42, 43 (KJV)
